I’m here today to share some very interesting news.
The publication of a book called “Rethinking the Specified Skilled Worker System: From Labor to Humanity”! (The English title hasn’t been decided yet)
I’ll try to summarize what the book is about:
This is the 13th volume of a research publication on immigration and diaspora.
After WWII, the inflow of immigrants to Japan increased significantly and the purpose of this study is to find out “what kind of people are coming in” and “what kind of situation surronds them”.
In simple terms, they are studying the immigrants in order to know more about these people.
The 13th volume focuses on labor issues.
It is a collection of papers that discuss the main fields of activity of foreigners working in Japan and their particularities.

I don’t intend to summarize the contents of Kaori’s column, but I would like to write some of my impressions after reading it:

Since the law on the employment of SSWs is pretty recent, there are still many questions surrounding SSWs, their employers and this relationship that the law is trying to define and control.
We are facing the foundation building of a new type of labor-management relationship, and we need to do our best to create a comfortable environment for everyone.

Estou aqui hoje para compartilhar uma notícia muito interessante, a publicação de um livro chamado “Repensando o Sistema de Trabalhadores Qualificados Especificados: Do Trabalho à Humanidade”!
(O título em português ainda não foi definido, é uma tradução livre.)
Vou tentar resumir o tema do livro:
Este é o 13º volume de uma publicação de pesquisa sobre migração e diáspora.
Após a Segunda Guerra Mundial, o fluxo de imigrantes para o Japão aumentou significativamente, e o objetivo deste estudo é descobrir “que tipo de pessoas estão chegando” e “que tipo de situação as cerca”.
Resumindo, eles estão estudando os imigrantes para saber mais sobre essas pessoas.
O 13º volume concentra-se em questões trabalhistas.
É uma coletânea de artigos que discute os principais campos de atuação dos estrangeiros que trabalham no Japão e suas particularidades.

Não pretendo resumir o conteúdo da coluna de Kaori, mas gostaria de registrar algumas das minhas impressões após a leitura:
Ela discute alguns dos maiores desafios enfrentados por trabalhadores, empresas e governo em relação à nova alta demanda por trabalhadores estrangeiros.
Como a lei sobre a contratação dos SSWs é bastante recente, ainda existem muitas questões em torno dos funcionários, empregadores e da relação que a lei tenta definir e controlar. Estamos diante da construção dos alicerces de um novo tipo de relação entre trabalhador e gestor, e precisamos fazer o nosso melhor para criar um ambiente confortável para todos.
Mas convido todos a lerem e tirarem suas próprias conclusões. (Em japonês).
