白雪姫通信事業組合との交流会と七人の小人

こんにちは、アンサーノックスのクララです。
10月14日の午後、やまなし地域づくり交流センター 付近を散歩していた人たちは面白い光景に遭遇した。それは身長が少なくとも1.78センチある外国人の列を先導する小柄な日本人女性だった。
周りの人たちは「これは白雪姫と七人の小人の現代版上演かな」を思い描いていたのだろうか？
「このバージョンでは、白雪姫は小さく、他のキャラクターはみんな背が高くなっています。きっと現代アートですね！」
しかし、もっと注意深く観察すると、背の高い外国人のグループがアンサーノックスの会社のバッジを胸に着けていることに気が付くでした、そして前にいましたリードをしていた女性は会社の社長でした！
その日、オフィスからとても近い交流センターまで歩いて行きました理由は。。。
通信事業組合との交流会でした。
同組合は職場の多様性を促進するための経験とひて、今年のイベントでは国籍の多様性に焦点が当てられました。
イベント中、カオリさんは会社の哲学、職場における多様性の重要性、そして上司は従業員ができないことにフォーカスするのではなく、各従業員がそれぞれの役割を果たすためになにが提供できるのかを知っておくべきだと話しました。
その後、信事業組合会員とアンサーノックスの社員による座談会を開催しました。その日のラインナップはクララ、ディラン、ルシ、そしてフランス語しか話せませんトゥーレさんでした。
日本語のレベルはちがうが、私たちは日本の就職市場での経験について非常に興味深い会話をすることができました。
会社を代表して、ご招待くださった組合、特にずっとメールで連絡をくださった三森さんに感謝申し上げます。
小さなカオリさんの横で巨人のように、クララたちが立った。
追伸: このブログを公開した後、非常に充実した詳細な資料を受け取りました。これは、私たちの会合後に通信事業組合が作成した報告書でした。
参加者からのフィードバックの豊かさに、私は心から喜びを感じました。この交流会が、私たちにとってだけでなく、組合メンバーにとっても感動的なものであったことを実感したからです。
参加者の体験談の中で、私が最も感銘を受けたのは、私たちはみないつかは少数派になる可能性があると初めて気づいたという人の話でした。
また別の人は、アンコンシャスバイアス(の偏見をなくすことは不可能だとわかっていても、これからは少しずつ自分の偏見と戦うことに注意を払うと述べました。
そして最後に、私が最も感動した話は、相手が日本人であろうと外国人であろうと、相手に興味を持つ、人と出会うときに「自動操縦」で行き続かないことの大切さに気づいたという人の話でした。
人生を変えるには、たった一瞬の出来事で十分です。これからは、私たち一人ひとりが私たちがお互いに真にオープンなコミュニケーションをとることができるように祈ります。

Hello, this is Clara from Answer Knocks.
On the afternoon of October 14th, people strolling near the Yamanashi Community Development Center came across an interesting sight.
It was a petite Japanese woman leading a line of foreigners, each at least 1.78 cm tall.
Perhaps those around them thought it was a modern adaptation of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
“In this version, Snow White is tiny, and the other characters are all tall. These theater people are so avant-garde!”
However, upon closer observation, one could notice that the group of tall foreigners were wearing Answer Knocks’ company badges with pride right in the middle of their chests, and that the woman leading the line was the company president!
That day, the reason why we strolled to the community center, next to our office was…
A networking event with the Telecommunications Industry Association.
The association has a mission to promote diversity in the workplace, and this year their annual meeting focused on nationality diversity.
During the event, Kaori spoke about the company’s philosophy, the importance of diversity in the workplace, and how managers should be aware of what each employee can offer to help them fulfill their roles, rather than focusing on what they can’t do.
Afterwards, we held a roundtable discussion between the association members and our company staff. The lineup for the day included Clara, Dylan, Luci, and Toureé, who only speaks French.
Despite our different levels of Japanese, we had a very interesting discussion with the japanese natives about our experiences in the Japanese job market.
On behalf of the company, I’d like to thank the association for inviting us, and especially Mitsumori-san, who kept in touch with me all the time via email.
Clara and the others stood like giants next to tiny Kaori.
PS: After publishing this entry, I received a very rich and detailed document, the report prepared by the Telecommunications Industry Association after our meeting.
I was truly charmed by the richness of the feedback we received from the participants, and with that I realized that this networking event was not only inspiring for us, but also for the association members.
Among the participants’ feedbacks, I was intrigued by someone saying they realized for the first time that we could all become a minority someday.
Another person said that even though they know it’s impossible to eliminate all unconscious bias, they will now pay attention to fighting their own prejudices little by little.
And finally, the letter that moved me the most was from someone who realized the importance of being interested in others when we interact with other human beings, whether they are Japanese or not, instead of leaving our human connections to the “autopilot”.
It only takes one moment to change a life. From now on, I hope that each of us will be able to communicate truly and openly with each other.
Moved by everyone’s dedication, Clara stood up.

Olá, aqui é a Clara da Answer Knocks.
Na tarde de 14 de outubro, pessoas passeando perto do Centro de Desenvolvimento Comunitário de Yamanashi se depararam com uma cena interessante. Uma mulher japonesa de baixa estatura liderando uma fila de estrangeiros, cada um com pelo menos 1,78 m de altura.
Talvez as pessoas tenham pensado que se tratava de uma adaptação moderna de Branca de Neve e os Sete Anões.
“Nesta versão, a Branca de Neve é pequenina e os outros personagens são todos altos. Essas pessoas do teatro são tão esquisitas!”
No entanto, observando com mais atenção, era possível notar que o grupo de estrangeiros altos usava com orgulho os crachás da Answer Knocks bem no meio do peito, e que a mulher que liderava a fila era a presidente da empresa!

Um evento de networking com a Associação da Indústria de Telecomunicações.
A associação tem como missão promover a diversidade no ambiente de trabalho, e este ano seu encontro anual teve como foco a diversidade de nacionalidades.
Durante o evento, Kaori falou sobre a filosofia da empresa, a importância da diversidade no ambiente de trabalho e como os gestores devem estar atentos ao que cada funcionário pode oferecer para desempenhar suas funções, em vez de se concentrarem naquilo que eles não podem fazer.
Depois, realizamos uma mesa-redonda entre os membros da associação e os funcionários da nossa empresa. Participaram Clara, Dylan, Luci e Tourée, que só fala francês.
Apesar dos nossos diferentes níveis no idioma japonês, tivemos uma conversa muito interessante com os japoneses sobre nossas experiências no mercado de trabalho japonês.
Em nome da empresa, gostaria de agradecer à associação pelo convite e, em especial, à Sra. Mitsumori, que manteve contato comigo o tempo todo por e-mail.
Clara e os outros ficaram de pé parecendo gigantes ao lado da pequena Kaori.
PS: Após publicar este texto, recebi um documento muito rico e detalhado, o relatório preparado pela Associação da Indústria de Telecomunicações após o nosso encontro.
Fiquei verdadeiramente encantada com a riqueza do feedback que recebemos dos participantes e, com isso, percebi que este evento de networking não foi apenas inspirador para nós, mas também para os membros da associação.
Entre os feedbacks dos participantes, fiquei intrigada com o de alguém que disse ter percebido pela primeira vez que todos nós poderíamos nos tornar minoria algum dia.
Outra pessoa disse que, embora saiba que é impossível eliminar todos os preconceitos inconscientes, agora prestará atenção em combater seus próprios preconceitos pouco a pouco.
E, finalmente, a carta que mais me comoveu foi de alguém que percebeu a importância de se interessar pelos outros quando interagimos com outros seres humanos, sejam eles japoneses ou não, em vez de deixar nossas conexões humanas no “piloto automático”.
Basta um momento para mudar uma vida. De agora em diante, espero que cada um de nós seja capaz de se comunicar de forma verdadeira e aberta uns com os outros.
Comovida pela dedicação de todos, Clara se levantou.
